1.4. VLSI design

The use of graphics to design Very Large Scale Integration
devices - microprocessors, memories, etc. Application programs are used
to interactively build and check semiconductor circuits.
This can save time as simulations can be done using the database of
graphics information. The circuit being put into silicon can be tested
before it is even built!
The same database can then drive the fabrication process.
