1.7. Image Processing   

1) The displaying of images typically from geo-stationary

or orbiting satellites. These images are sent down and show the Earth in

several different frequency bands. These bands can be used to detect

many things of geological, agricultural, meteorological and

environmental importance.

2) The processing of images to extract further information (edges,

contours, depth,etc).
